Monitors water values in aquariums simply and reliably. It determines pH (three ranges), carbonate hardness, general hardness, ammonium/ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, iron, copper, silicate, oxygen, and, with the help of a table, the CO2 calculation. Add the reagents to the water samples, compare on the colour chart, read off the values, and check the analysis sheet to see which actions are recommended, if any. The comparator system takes the inherent water colouring into account. CO2 content is determined by pH value and KH value using the table. It contains a childproof reagent bottle in a waterproof plastic case. Refill reagents are separately available.

Waste, plant residues, and metabolic products burden aquarium water. Since aquarium filters cannot completely remove these substances from the water, and a large part of the dirt settles in the aquarium substrate, a regular partial water change (about every 2 weeks, 1/3 of the water content) must be performed. The partial water change should always be combined with vacuuming the dirt from the substrate. After the partial water change, a good water conditioner like Biotopol should be used to treat the new tap water appropriately for fish.
Easy installation: Connect the water jet pump to the faucet. Attach a long hose to the water jet pump and connect the other end to the siphon. Hang the siphon in the aquarium. Set the shut-off valve on the water jet pump to open. Open the faucet fully. The flowing water will draw in the aquarium water. While vacuuming, clean the aquarium substrate with the siphon. To refill the aquarium, close the shut-off valve on the water jet pump and let fresh water flow into the aquarium.

There is ongoing debate about whether fish can be introduced just one day after setting up a new aquarium. Microbiologists have found that bacteria in a new aquarium multiply very slowly if there is no water load (food for the bacteria). However, if fish are added the next day without a bacterial starter, ammonium/ammonia problems can arise because the bacteria initially multiply too slowly to keep up with the pollutant influx. When using JBL Denitrol (1 hour after adding JBL Biotopol), a high quantity of bacteria is introduced. When the first fish are added the next day, these bacteria also receive food and begin to multiply. Additionally, JBL Denitrol is added for the first 10 days, ensuring that there are always enough bacteria present, preventing any issues with ammonium/ammonia or nitrite.
