Waste, plant residues, and metabolic products burden aquarium water. Since aquarium filters cannot completely remove these substances from the water, and a large part of the dirt settles in the aquarium substrate, a regular partial water change (about every 2 weeks, 1/3 of the water content) must be performed. The partial water change should always be combined with vacuuming the dirt from the substrate. After the partial water change, a good water conditioner like Biotopol should be used to treat the new tap water appropriately for fish.

Easy installation: Connect the water jet pump to the faucet. Attach a long hose to the water jet pump and connect the other end to the siphon. Hang the siphon in the aquarium. Set the shut-off valve on the water jet pump to open. Open the faucet fully. The flowing water will draw in the aquarium water. While vacuuming, clean the aquarium substrate with the siphon. To refill the aquarium, close the shut-off valve on the water jet pump and let fresh water flow into the aquarium.
