Paws and Patch Slippery Elm Bark Powder for Dogs and Cats (100g)

The pure slippery elm bark powder from Paws and Patch is a natural product derived from the inner bark of the American red elm. Red elm bark is rich in mucilage, tannins, bitter substances, fatty acids, and minerals. The mucilage from the elm bark provides gentle care for the mucous membranes of the stomach and intestines.

Feeding Recommendation:

The powder is not fed directly. A syrup is made from the slippery elm bark powder, which is administered several times a day before feeding. To prepare the syrup, the powder is dosed according to the package instructions and boiled with water. High-quality slippery elm bark powder will create a thick syrup when boiled, which is administered directly after cooling.

Syrup Preparation:

Add the powder to a small stainless steel pot with water and stir well. Let it simmer for about 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Allow to cool and divide into two portions (morning and evening).

Feeding Recommendation per Animal per Day:

Place the syrup on a small plate and let the animal lick it off. Alternatively, it can be given directly into the animal's mouth. Administer 15–30 minutes before feeding in the morning and evening. Do not mix with food. Start with 50% of the daily dose for the first feeding. A measuring spoon is included with the product, which is approximately 1 g.

• Cats: 1.5 ml with 75 ml water
• Dogs up to 10 kg: 2 ml with 100 ml water
• Dogs 10–20 kg: 4 ml with 200 ml water
• Dogs over 20 kg: 6 ml with 300 ml water
