That’s why Biokat's Active Pearls contain 100% natural clay and activated carbon, which effectively absorbs urine and feces odors. The highly effective odor binding occurs naturally, as the activated carbon is derived from coconut shells, a renewable resource. Activated carbon is a highly porous carbon material with an enormous internal surface area; one gram of activated carbon provides about 1,000 square meters of surface area. When it comes to efficient odor binding, activated carbon is a "true black diamond." Active Pearls enhance the clumping ability of cat litter. The functional granules contained in the litter enhance clumping and allow for longer use of standard cat litter. Like all Biokats products, this litter is made in Germany.
