A passion for Japanese interior design: André Schelbach

Born in 1969 in Detmold, André Schelbach has a strong affinity for Asian cultures: the industrial engineer and product designer. During a six-month internship, he discovered his personal passion for the expressive yet minimalist design language of Japan, earned a degree as a diploma designer, and gained several years of professional experience in his father's design studio before finally founding his own company in 2006. Since then, he has been developing multifunctional modern furniture under the YOMEI label in a purist-Japanese "less is more" style, characterized by exceptional quality, integrity, and elegance.
