"A circle of pure light attached to a thin line": Sam Hecht and Kim Colin describe their geometrically simple design for the Swedish brand Wästberg, which, thanks to innovative materials and sophisticated mechanics, can not only be used versatilely in an interior but also prompts a rethinking of light usage. Environmentally conscious and sustainable, the heat-resistant plastic is made from up to 60% castor biomass, with concealed, overmolded metal parts providing the necessary stability. The disc can be smoothly adjusted up or down, and even rotated around its axis, allowing for a choice between direct and indirect lighting. The firmly integrated COB LEDs are perfectly balanced between a large reflector and a generous diffuser, ensuring that the light always shines softly and warmly. At the top of the stem, a touch dimmer allows for the adjustment of the lamp's light intensity.
