For the first time, Metz Textil und Design breaks with its own tradition – but the company from Aschau am Inn does this for a good innovative reason and with a clear conscience: Instead of the usual genuine wool felt, Metz Textil und Design uses Violan for this table decoration, a purely plant-based felt developed over years of experimentation. The material feels just as high-quality as soft merino wool felt, but is made from plant residues and wood fibers. It is wonderfully soft to the touch, extra absorbent, allergen-free, biodegradable, and completely non-toxic, so that even small children can safely put the felt in their mouths! Furthermore, each placemat and every optionally available table runner can be washed at 30°C with a mild detergent without spinning – even true wool felt fans won't be able to resist!.
