For the first time, Metz Textil und Design breaks with its own tradition – but the company from Aschau am Inn does this for a good innovative reason and with a clear conscience: Instead of using the customary real wool felt, Metz Textil und Design opts for Violan, a purely plant-based felt developed through years of meticulous work. The material feels just as high-quality as soft merino wool felt, but is made from plant residues and wood fibers. It is pleasantly soft to the touch, highly absorbent, allergen-free, biodegradable, and completely non-toxic, making it safe for small children to put in their mouths! Furthermore, each placemat and any optionally available table runner can be washed with a gentle detergent at 30°C without spinning – even true wool felt fans won't be able to resist!.
