Normann Copenhagen Pine

Normann Copenhagen's collection of small tables named Pine has a Nordic yet avant-garde quality. The tables are made from solid pine wood and feature a distinctive, sculptural design. The choice of pine sets the tone for the design of the Pine tables. The pronounced grain of the wood gives the tables a pleasant organic quality, and the often-overlooked wood type is brought to life through its playful shape. Designer Simon Legald explains: "In furniture design, pine has long been a forgotten wood type. This is unfortunate, as pine has its own qualities. For me, the fiery growth rings and the characteristic aroma of the wood represent Nordic soul and warmth. Not least, it makes a lot of sense to use a material that can be found in abundance locally." With its voluminous octagonal base, the pine can add impact and vibrancy to any space. The narrow, rounded edge of the tabletop provides a gentle counterbalance to its heavy body, giving the solid wood design an optical lightness. The wood is presented in its natural form or with a colored wood stain that allows the grain to shine through. Designed by Simon Legald.
