PH 3/2 Wall Light by Louis Poulsen

The PH 3/2 wall light by Louis Poulsen is a well-known design classic created by Poul Henningsen. The lampshade consists of three layers of reflective opal glass that directs light downward and ensures an even distribution of light in the shade. The outer layer of the glass is glossy, while the inner layer is matte sandblasted to produce a soft and diffused light.

Poul Henningsen developed the classic three-color system in collaboration with Louis Poulsen for the Paris exhibition in 1925-1926. The PH 3/2 wall light is designed like a logarithmic spiral to optimally distribute light and create glare-free illumination. The designation of the PH lamps refers to the size of the lampshade, while the letters come from the initials of the designer.
