Kvadrat Merger Rug

The Merger rug, designed by graphic designer Hella Jongerius in collaboration with Kvadrat Rugs, is inspired by color block technology. The vibrant and intriguing design is created through the use of two color tones on a light or dark background. The irregular coloring and diagonal structure give the design a calm and harmonious aura. This unique rug with a clear design is particularly well-suited for striking and complex environments. Handwoven colorful twill meets in various directions and angles, creating a tactile and ribbed surface.

Merger Rug by Hella Jongerius

Hella Jongerius drew inspiration for the Merger rug, which she developed in collaboration with Kvadrat, from the concept of color blocks. This involves placing two or more larger color blocks side by side, resulting in dynamic shifts between different shades. The Merger rug is made from high-quality New Zealand wool on a cotton warp. Although the Dutch designer avoids strong contrasts and instead plays with related colors, a powerful and expressive rug emerges.
