His goal was to create a figure that would serve as a lasting reminder to stay positive and optimistic. Although the 60s are often referred to as "The Happy Sixties," they were also marked by unrest. Ehrenreich's design thus became a welcome source of joy during an otherwise turbulent time. Bimble and Bumble, the designer's first Hoptimists, embody a girl with shining eyes dressed for school and a watchful boy with a distinctive tuft on his head. These cheerful figures are now an integral part of Danish design history and bring joy worldwide.
