The Swiss Pine grows in the extreme climate of the Tyrolean Central Alps, above the tree line at altitudes of 1500 to 2000 meters. The trees can live up to 1000 years and withstand frost down to -40°C. To survive in these harsh conditions, they require a very special resilience.
