Georg Jensen Table centrepiece

Developed in collaboration with the renowned architect David Thulstrup, Penumbra is a striking design piece crafted from highly polished stainless steel and available in three sizes. The design is characterised by a visual effect created by the contrast between the oval centre and the rectangular outer shape. Penumbra draws inspiration from various design movements that have also defined Georg Jensen’s designs over the course of the last century, from the Danish Art Nouveau style Skønvirke to functionalism. The name of the piece refers to an area that is partially illuminated, and alludes to the reflection of light as it strikes the high-contrast forms.

Penumbra can be used on its own as a centrepiece for the table, or as a bowl for food or fruit. Whether used lying horizontally or standing upright, it takes on two distinct forms of expression.
