Flos Kronleuchter

Although many objects from the Flos label, which was founded in 1961, appear provocative, they nevertheless offer maximum functionality. It is precisely this philosophy that has enabled Flos to add numerous icons to the Italian lighting design scene. This is partly due to innovative design concepts, but also to the use of new and revolutionary materials. Gino Sarfatti has created this designer ceiling light in the shape of a chandelier, so that the pendant light gives every room that certain something. This living room lamp is made of steel, giving the buyer a long-lasting pendant light for their rooms. Gino Sarfatti originally studied aerospace engineering in Genoa, but had to drop out of university. In the years that followed, however, he always worked in the field of lighting technology. This enabled him to become one of the most important designers of lamps and luminaires during the 20th century. Early on, he used materials for lamp construction that were considered unusual at the time. As early as the beginning of the 1950s, for example, he used Plexiglas and was also one of the first to use halogen lamps. One of his models was even included in the collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art.
