The harsh climate of Alaska causes wild ducks to mature plumage that keeps them and their brood warm during the long winters and short summers. The warmth of this down and feather plumage is equal to that of eider down. Wrapped in the finest, snug cotton, the stays prevent the precious filling from slipping.
