38.3V Random LED Pendant Light by Bocci

The 38.3V consists of three blown glass pendants attached to a single brushed nickel or white canopy with an 8-inch diameter. The 38.3V is a low-pressure arrangement of three blown glass spheres, assembled in an atmospheric grouping. Each sphere contains several inner cavities that can either be filled with plants or left empty.

38 Series Random

38V is a variant of the original 38 series, where large glass spheres with multiple random cavities are created to intersect and collide in unpredictable ways. The 38.3V is smaller and lighter, suspended from a coaxial cable. The cavity can be filled with plants or left empty.

Omer Arbel Design - 38.3V

The 38 designed by Omer Arbel for Bocci is a series of pendant lights. Some of these satellite cavities are deep enough to accommodate soil and plants, while others serve as lighting elements. Each sphere contains two or three illuminators and one or two plants. Due to this process, the diameter, size, and number of satellite cavities vary.

A Work of Art in Interior Design

38 is the ultimate exploration of the same glassblowing technology used in the production of 28. The large glass sphere is filled with randomly placed milky white satellites, some of which are deep enough to hold cactus plants. The 38 hang from rigid copper pipes. In 2012, 38 received significant acclaim at the Emerging Architecture Awards.
