28.1 Shallow LED Pendant Light by Bocci

The single pendant light from Bocci is designed to complement the atmospheric environment. Each sphere contains a satellite-shaped inner landscape, including an opaque milk glass diffuser that can accommodate 20-watt xenon or 1.5-watt LED bulbs. The canopy designed by Omer Arbel for this 28.1 lamp refers to the size of the thin roof, with a diameter of 116 mm and a depth of 7 mm.

28.1 Design by Omer Arbel - Unique Glassblowing Technique

The purpose of the 28.1 by Arbel is not to design a distinct shape, but to create a system that can produce extraordinary forms. A single label is crafted through a complex glassblowing technique, where air is intermittently introduced into a glass substrate and then removed, the glass substrate is intermittently heated and then rapidly cooled. The end result is a spherical shape, completely distorted, and an implosion form, one of which serves as a shade for a low-pressure xenon light source.

The 28 pendant light is constructed by grouping and nesting them in hexagonal shapes to create patterns based on internal requirements. They can also be grouped or assembled in the environment. The 28 lamp features a transparent outer glass sphere and a milky white inner lamp holder cavity. 28s can come in an unlimited variety of colors, sizes, and shapes.
