Product details

Ganesha is perhaps the most popular of all Indian gods. He is considered the son of Parvati and Shiva. According to legend, Shiva withdrew for meditation, and Parvati, feeling lonely, created a son for herself. When Shiva returned, he, in a fit of rage, severed the boy's head. Realizing what he had done, he ordered that the head of the first being that came by be placed on Ganesha's body to bring him back to life. This being was an elephant - a new god was born, combining the powers of Shiva and Parvati. It is said that he removes all obstacles from the path. Thus, he is often invoked before any kind of venture. He ensures both material and spiritual prosperity and is regarded as the patron of businesspeople. Ganesha is also essential at the start of any new beginning, whether it be a move or a new job, as he blesses the new situation and promises good fortune. Ganesha has four arms, representing the four aspects of the subtle body: intellect, ego, spirit, and consciousness. Made of antique brass, height: 23 cm, weight: 4.2 kg.
