Camel hair refers to the fur of the camel, which ranges in color from yellowish to reddish to brownish. There is a distinction between the coarse outer hair of the camel and the soft, fluffy undercoat, also known as down hair. A camel sheds about 5 to 7 kilograms of undercoat during the molting process, which is why they do not need to be sheared.
