Product details
The area in the wild north of Sardinia stretches across the diverse regions of Planargia-Marghine, Sassarese, Gallura, and Baronia. Turquoise sea, long white sandy beaches, and rocky coastlines run through all these wonderful regions. Sassarese, for example, not only attracts visitors with its dreamlike beaches, beautiful colors, and bizarre rock landscapes but also delights the palate with the island's only DOCG wine. The Gallura region is often referred to as a moon landscape with its glowing sea. The famous Costa Smeralda, which is also a favorite among stars and the wealthy, is well-known. Only a few tourists venture away from the coast into the interior, where shepherds still drive their herds and archaeological sites and mysterious caves await discovery. The second-largest island in the Mediterranean is full of contrasts: secluded bays, a crystal-clear sea shimmering in all shades of turquoise, as well as remote mountain villages, forests of cork and oak trees, and idyllic vineyards. Unique to Sardinia is the port city of Alghero, fortified by the Catalans in the 14th century. Surrounded on three sides by bastions and fortress towers, it offers a pleasant walking experience.
