The radio always has to be connected to the mains first, then switched on, then unplugged from the radio and then it works.

Unfortunately, this is the future, it shouldn't cost any more and should last forever... (This is a side effect of today's DAB + radio technology, based on digital technology, more possibilities, but faster to the electronic scrap heap, the old-proven FM technology does not have these problems by far, and needs even less power, but unfortunately you want to say goodbye to it! In the near future, millions of good FM receivers will be thrown on the scrap heap, perhaps some FM sets will reach a country where they can continue to play and transmit music for a long time to come.
