I am trying to decide on an Apple Smart Keyboard. - What is the difference between signal transmission docking and signal transmission wireless? - What does "with integrated cover" mean? That it covers the iPad on both sides and thus also serves as a protective cover?

With "Docking", the keyboard is powered directly from the iPad, the keyboards that are connected via Bluetooth have their own power supply and must therefore be charged separately from the iPad.
The cover of this version (i.e. for Gen. 9) only protects the display, you then need another one for all-round protection, just make sure that the docking interface (the three dots on the side) remains free or that the entire side with the docking interface is kept free. The corresponding cases usually advertise this. An example would be the case from ESR.

Docking means that it establishes a connection via 3 small contacts (keyboard holds via magnet), no BT is required. when folded, the keyboard only protects the display, the back remains unprotected! i can only warmly recommend the keyboard, all other keyboards are only a stopgap solution! in daily use the keyboard lasts a good 4 years
