Hello Community.
I would like to buy this record player. But I still need a few tips.
I want to use it exclusively for two applications.
1. I want to listen to the records with my BD DT-880 headphones. I have seen the "Pro-Ject Head Box S2" headphone amplifier for this purpose:

I can connect this to the record player with the cinch cable.
2. I would like to connect the SONOS Play5. For this I can use the RCA output of the amplifier to the AUX connection of the Play5.
Do you think this set will work? Or will it not work with the amplifier on the record player?
Thanks for the help.
Greetings Simon
Hello Simon, both should be possible. The record player has a built-in preamplifier, i.e. the signal coming from the record player is the same as from an MP3 player or CD player, for example. You can therefore connect the record player directly to the line or AUX input of a device or an active speaker (such as the Sonos Play 5). It also works with the headphone amplifier. In the past (e.g. in the 70s or 80s), record players were always unamplified - the amplifiers of the time therefore usually had a special phono input that additionally pre-amplified the signal. Alternatively, there were (and still are) separate preamplifiers for turntables without an integrated preamplifier. But as I said, the Audio-Technica AT-LP120X already has the preamplifier built in.
