The DS8178-HC from Zebra is an extremely powerful 1D/2D area imager featuring an 800 MHz microprocessor. Combined with a high-resolution megapixel sensor (resolution 960 x 1280) and exclusive PRZM technology, the device ensures reliable scanning results. The wireless device captures problematic barcodes as well, and the internal scan performance diagnostics ensure that no errors occur during scanning.

Thanks to Zebra's proprietary Wi-Fi Friendly mode, the device avoids Bluetooth interference. This exclusive Zebra feature ensures that the DS8178-HC only uses channels not utilized by Wi-Fi. The battery also guarantees safe operation. The clearly visible charging indicator shows at a glance whether a battery change is necessary before a shift.

Certification according to FIPS 140-2 is particularly important in the healthcare sector. It ensures that the DS8178-HC effectively protects patient data. Additionally, the area imager features a special housing made of unique plastic with concealed screw holes, which helps prevent the spread of bacteria and allows for effective cleaning.
