The Synology DS1815+ meets my expectations....

The Synology DS1815+ meets my expectations:
    + Fast Quadcore CPU
+ Best Nas operating system ever (DSM 5.1)
+ Cloud Sync and Station Sync support
+ Big fans = very quiet.
Only the HD's make a noise from time to time.
    I
have WD RED's (6TB) installed, which are also very quiet/recommendable and are offered in combination with the Synology.

    Negative points:
    - No option for 10Gbit extensions
    - No Virtualization Station (like e.g. QNAP)
    - Not all software packages are officially supported after release. e.g. Plex
(with manual adjustment, however, Plex also runs)
    - Cloud Sync is very slow with Microsoft OneDrive
(App developers should have solved this problem soon)
    - Suspicion: Perhaps throttling is taking place to get a grip on the flood of data.

On the whole, I can recommend the Synology.
Even if there are still a few problems that need to be solved.

    I am speechless....

    - Migration from old DS1511+ to DS1815+ was a dream; couldn't have been easier
    - No screws for the HDs, only in the frame plugs
    - Super performance
    and above all... very quiet!

I hesitated for a long time, but the performance was convincing.

Unpack, install the hard drives, connect them and follow the instructions. It could hardly be simpler.
Runs quietly in the living room for 8x3TB disks to be in operation at the same time. The disks are installed with a gap
between them, i.e. the bays also have a slot at the front, which guarantees good ventilation. The functionality provided by Synology is then the icing on the cake.
Only the locking mechanism looks a little cheap. However, this did not lead to a devaluation, because it is smooth-running and you normally only use it once.
This is now my third Synology NAS and I am very satisfied. Waking up from standby is much shorter than with my old DS411j and DS413j.
