Hello, the partition format table is according to your choice, generally in GPT by default, nevertheless it can easily be modified with this software (among others) and free: https://www.partitionwizard.com/free-parti...
or simply by using the windows disk manager
Prerequisite:
Model (MacBook Pro), Size (15') Vote
two versions for 2011:
MacBook Pro (15 inch, early 2011)
MacBook Pro (15 inch, end of 2011)
And
two versions for 2012
Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch (Mid 2012)
Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch Retina Display (Mid 2012)
According to Kingston, all three versions (WITHOUT "Retina") are compatible with:
480GB A400 SATA3 2.5 SSD (7mm height) Part Number: SA400S37/480G
see:

However, for Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch Retina Display (Mid 2012) an upgrade with SSD is not described; see

Yes it will. The SATA3 interface is backwards compatible with SATA1. Everything should work. Just remember that the SSD with SATA1 can only be 150MB/s fast, but the SSD itself can generate 500MB/s throughput. However, it will work without any problems.
Possibly (I did not use the one I bought in a Mac), but all the conventional wisdom points to using Crucial as the aftermarket option for Mac. For only 40 more, the MX300 275GB is over twice the capacity also (they aren’t offering smaller capacity).
