Are you looking for a good, solid CD player? It sounds simple, but it isn't. This starts with the drive, which in many cases is designed for PC or other multimedia applications and is not optimized for CDs. The Silent Drive mechanism in the PD-10AE is different – as one of the few true CD drives, it was specifically developed for safe, quiet CD playback and is mounted centrally in a torsion-resistant steel chassis.
The robust power supply is also not off-the-shelf, nor is the converter board, which features a modern AKM DAC 4482VT with a particularly precise clock: only ±10ppm deviation from the target value – the best conditions for a precisely focused, natural sound.
