Product details

The Kingston IronKey Locker 50 USB flash drive offers consumer-level security with AES hardware encryption in XTS mode, including protections against BadUSB with digitally signed firmware and brute-force password attacks. The LP50 is also TAA compliant. The LP50 now supports admin and user options with multiple passwords in complex or passphrase mode. The complex mode allows passwords with 6-16 characters and 3 out of 4 character sets. The new passphrase mode allows for a numeric PIN, a sentence, a list of words, or even a text of 10 to 64 characters. The administrator can enable a user password or reset the user password to restore access to the data. To facilitate password entry, the eye icon can be activated to make the entered password visible and avoid typos that could lead to failed login attempts. Protection against brute-force attacks locks the user out after 10 consecutive invalid password entries and encrypts the drive if the administrator password is entered incorrectly 10 times in a row. Additionally, a built-in virtual keyboard protects passwords from keyloggers or screen loggers. The Locker 50 is very practical for carrying data anywhere, thanks to its small metal casing and built-in key loop. The LP50 also offers an optional USBtoCloud by ClevX backup, allowing you to access the data on the drive from your personal cloud storage. The LP50 is easy to set up and use for everyone, as no application installation is required; all necessary software and security are already on the drive. It works on both Windows and macOS, allowing users to access files from different systems.

... After successful activation, the stick achieves a maximum of 165 MByte/s for reading, 145 MByte/s for writing, and the write rate drops to a meagre 3 MByte/s with many small files - but this is similar with other sticks. If you want to have your data not only locally but also in the cloud, you can install the enclosed synchronisation software; this then takes up corresponding space in Dropbox & Co...
