An extremely thin coating is wrapped around the string and then fused with it to keep the winding gaps free of dirt, while simultaneously creating a pleasantly soft feel on the strings.

The legendary D’Addario sound of the strings is preserved by the coating, which dampens the sound less than other coated strings.
