The leathers from Badalassi Carlo are made using the Vacchetta technique developed in Tuscany and are then tanned with vegetable oils. The company aims for high quality and produces its products in small batches using traditional craftsmanship techniques. The Minerva leather used for the black leather case is a vegetable-tanned leather made using the unique Vacchetta method in Tuscany. Initially, the leather appears somewhat matte and dull, but over time it develops a natural shine and the color becomes richer. This is because the leather surface is not artificially coated; instead, the shine develops naturally from the oils contained in the leather itself as it is used. Like other vegetable-tanned leathers, Minerva leather becomes particularly beautiful over time.
