Wonder Woman: Sexy, strong and a true inspiration

She's finally here, and there's no stopping her! Because "Wonder Woman" is already more successful in the USA than "Man of Steel" or "Suicide Squad", and shows the men where it's at. Sex appeal meets a good heart. A reason to fall in love. At least that's what happened to me.
Women power ahoy! Wonder Woman is a superhero who believes in love and peace. Of course, it's not just her lovely nature and great attitude to life that make her so unique. The concentrated load of femininity mixed with sexy martial arts and sharp armour manage to warm every heart.
Amazon princess Diana, played by model and actress Gal Gadot, grows up far away from the normal world on a lonely island called Themyscira. She has never met a man until Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) crashes his plane on the island's beach. Outside, the First World War is raging and Diana no longer understands the world. Together with the American spy Trevor, she sets off into the unknown. With the mission to save the world and defeat the god of war, the beautiful heroine goes to war. Because only she can put an end to this endless battle.
I love her for believing in the good in people and never losing hope - even when her heart breaks.
Unexpected DC success
"Wonder Woman" is hugely celebrated in the USA. The comic adaptation from Warner Bros. based on a DC comic has already grossed more than its male predecessors "Man of Steel" or "Batman v Superman", even though the film has only been in cinemas for a few weeks. The film has already earned 350 million dollars in the States, and its success is far from over. Only in Europe has the hype surrounding the beautiful Amazon not really taken off yet. In this country, the male rivals to "Wonder Woman" were somewhat more successful, but Diana is unstoppable and will fight her way into the hearts of viewers here too - I'm quite sure of that.
Because good things sometimes take time.

Many other female factors are certainly to blame for the triumph. After all, "Wonder Woman" is the work of a woman: director Patty Jenkins. The result is impressive and gives the superheroine genre a new chance. Think back to the 2004 disaster "Catwoman" with Halle Berry in the leading role. With the warrior princess, Jenkins reinvents the image of the female heroine and creates great cinema! Hollywood should copy her, preferably several times over. Because women also need heroines they can look up to and be inspired by.
The weapons of a woman
But what makes Princess Diana so irresistible? Everything. The Amazon is a real stunner and so much more. Something for the eye and the heart. Although Gal Gadot is not necessarily the best actress, Hollywood could not have made a better choice for Wonder Woman. The Israeli embodies beauty and sex appeal like no other, and delivers an exciting and convincing performance.

And although Diana Prince (as Trevor calls her) is a one-woman fighting machine and solves a trench war that has been hardened for years within a few minutes, her loving sense of justice makes up for everything. Because even though the film has a lot of bang, bang and boom, boom in store, love is not forgotten.
Diana, who is still a little inexperienced in dealing with men and the whole modern world at the beginning, is self-assured and masters every situation with ease. And her somewhat too direct manner mixed with sweet irony gives the whole spectacle a childlike feel. Even her awkwardness in terms of social behaviour comes across as graceful thanks to her charm and makes the fighter extremely likeable without making her clumsy and stupid.
Because "Wonder Woman" is actually a completely normal girl who loves and lives, and just wants to save the world on the side. Her feelings for Steve Trevor make her vulnerable and human. A character trait that we can identify with only too well. Lovesickness, oh. The only difference to us mere mortals: Diana, overcome by pain, suddenly grows beyond herself and becomes an ultra-ultra-superheroine. Boom!
Women to power
The role reversal between the sexes is particularly good. Because in "Wonder Woman", men are suddenly rescued by women and a plethora of female beauties fight in the battle against the Germans as if they had never done anything else. And they haven't, because they are a nation of warriors who just happen to be women. They don't become weaker just because a man appears on screen and the men don't become less competent in return.

Then there are those incredible special effects. My goodness! Visually, the fighting Amazons are simply an absolute eye-catcher. Of course, with such a big budget, you can expect a lot - but the fights are still a pleasant surprise.
I find it really difficult to criticise anything about "Wonder Woman". It's been a long time since I left the cinema so satisfied and with such a good feeling. At this point, I would like to make a declaration of love: To "Wonder Woman", thank you for two exciting hours full of love, struggle and hope - I think I've fallen in love. Diana embodies values that we as men and women, as human beings, should perhaps reflect on a little more often.
And as the cherry on top of the cream cake, here are a few clips from the film:
For all those who were also struck in the heart by the Amazon princess, there's not yet the film for the home, but other fan merchandise.

I spend my everyday life with writing, eating, sports and sleeping - and in between a lot of humour. I love the summer, ice cream, chocolate, sunsets and walking barefoot. Traveling, exploring new worlds and experiencing adventures. And nothing beats a good pizza with good friends to a good movie.
