Unusual urban gardening

Who doesn't love a few fresh herbs. For the steak on the barbecue, for the salad or even for a fresh tea. I love herbs, flowers and, of course, the unusual presentation. This time I'll show you how to create wonderful gardens for indoors and outdoors from a palette.

As in my first report, you'll need another Euro pallet. Maybe you still have one left over from your first shelving attempt. If you go looking for a new pallet again, then take one or two more with you for my next ideas.

The hammer and crowbar will be used again and believe me, after the twentieth pallet, the nails will come out almost by themselves.

You need the following equipment for the machines

You can create a beautiful herb garden with 6 beds from a whole pallet. Of course, also ideal for a beautiful flower garden.

For the "large herb garden" project, you need a whole pallet from which you remove the two narrow intermediate boards (see the yellow arrows in the next picture). You will need the intermediate boards for the bases of your herb beds.

To ensure that the whole thing holds up well in windy and stormy conditions, I recommend attaching feet to the garden with two boards. You can see this in the first picture. To avoid getting a wooden spike every time you harvest herbs, I recommend giving everything a good sanding. Now grab a paintbrush and paint and give your herb card a bit of colour. It also looks great in its natural state.

I lined the beds in my garden with foil, which I attached with a stapler. Pond liner or any other plastic liner is suitable. The film protects the wood and retains the water. Of course, you can also recycle old plastic bags. Pots that you simply place in the beds are also a very nice option. Lining with foil is then of course not necessary.

Remember to poke holes in the film if your garden is in the rain so that the water can run off.

Of course, a herb garden also looks great on the wall - it is a real eye-catcher, whether indoors or outdoors. The procedure is the same, simply mount a sturdy wall bracket instead of the feet.

And of course I also have an idea for those who have to be quick. Simply hang a whole or half pallet on the wall and you have a wonderful holder for all kinds of hanging pots. I love this variation. You can decorate again and again.

Small but mighty!

What we've seen now is that everything takes up a lot of space. But there are also many options for smaller spaces. I'd like to show you a few beautiful mini gardens. For the mini gardens, you'll need leftover pallets like the ones in the picture.

Simply mount a base and you have a simple herb or flower box. Again, sand well and line with foil. There are no colour limits here. Whether antique wax, glaze or paint - anything goes.

Always an eye-catcher in any kitchen or on any balcony. I decorated my herb box with a thin piece of wood that I painted with black chalkboard paint. I can label my herbs on it with white chalk.

The herb box can also be used as a wonderful table decoration. Instead of foil, simply place a few pots or flower vases in it. It's always on my table.

Last but not least, I'll show you what you can do with the old pallet boards that are always left over. I simply screwed together a plant box and lined it with foil. Of course, you can also use the remaining boards for your next charcoal barbecue.

So now I hope I haven't overwhelmed you with too many ideas. Have fun creating and enjoy your time in your green oases!

Next time, I'll show you a few ideas for different wardrobes made from pallets.
