Two students, one destination: heading for Morocco in a Fixie

Once upon a time, there were two students with a project in mind. After their final exams, Jonathan and Christoph set off to discover the world, not on an all-inclusive trip to the Canaries, but on an expedition to Morocco with their Fixies and a light baggage.
The many emails that flood the office inbox every day rarely contain phrases capable of sending you into a dream world. This one, however, stands out from the crowd:
"This summer, we'll be leaving Zurich on our Fixies, attempting skids (skidding by locking the rear wheel), cresting mountain passes at full throttle and slowing down once we reach the beaches of Morocco."
"Ouiiiiiiii!!!", I thought to myself. That's what I'm talking about! It sounds great. For many, this would be unthinkable, as everyday life would catch up with them: study, work, family, sofa, Netflix, a good night's sleep. So what could be better than to see two students wanting to go on an adventure during their holidays, rather than doing one internship after another? What's also interesting is that Jonathan and Christoph spontaneously tell us about this wonderful project. But what does Galaxus have to do with it after all?

Of course, they explain why they approached us by email:
"For our project, we would still need a Fixie and some victuals. Do you think you could support two students in some way in their adventure (just a pain au chocolat on the way would make us happy already)?"
No pain au chocolat, but a Fixie instead
Unfortunately we don't have any viennoiseries to offer, but a certain affection for the idea. And, it's true, there's no shortage of single-speed in our range. For their trip, we're sending them the "Fabio" model from Fam. Huber and a few things for their bundle.

In return, Jonathan and Christoph are offering to share their adventure with us. So, in the coming weeks, you'll be learning more about their austral journey. We asked them to present their project to us in the form of a video. And not surprisingly, for a student, an idea like this can only germinate at the bottom of a bed.
The city behind you: the distance in front of you
The idea? The call of travel, going far away with just a few everyday things: no modern equipment, so to speak, but remoteness as a concept, and two friends sharing the same goal, keen to make this journey extraordinary. These are the ingredients that will be enough to feed a few stories. We don't yet know what will happen on the roads, over the passes, in the towns, on the sofa in a local's house or on the beach at night. And neither do Jonathan and Christoph. What we do know is that we're following them on their journey.
On 28 August, Jonathan and Christoph began their adventure. Three weeks later, they aim to reach Morocco. What will they experience along the way? Find out more soon. Here.**
