These are the toy trends for 2019

What will people play with in 2019? An international trend committee of specialised journalists and market researchers predict the following three trends for this year: movement toys, surprises and toys for adults.
In February, the world's largest toy fair takes place in Nuremberg. Over a million products will be on display there. A group of experts has scoured the market in advance and identified the toy trends for this year.
Ready, Steady, Play!
Movement is the name of the game this year. Toys that encourage children to be active will be in vogue. Many parents see this as a welcome contrast to an increasingly comfortable society. Away from the tablet, out into nature. Especially in summer, children are once again busy balancing, jumping and skipping in the streets and meadows. A trend that I personally like.
The WOW effect
In addition to movement, surprises are also very popular. The principle is nothing new; Kinder Surprise Eggs have been around for many years. However, more and more manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon and launching new collectable products on the market. With these "surprise bags", the excitement lasts right to the end. You rarely know exactly what's inside before you buy it.
Toys 4 Kidults
This is my favourite trend, because I'm a kidult. Kidults (kid + adult) are adults who are passionate about toys. Decorative toys, model kits and collectibles often fall into this category. Or simply things that you always wanted as a child but never got and can now buy for yourself.
