If the weather’s gloomy, you’d better make sure your umbrella isn’t. These five umbrellas are the silver lining of rainy days.

Beautiful things make life more beautiful. And isn’t that what we need on a rainy day? Here are five handy umbrellas that protect you from the rain – and make you look stylish at the same time.

1. Trendy duckhead

When Morgan Cros founded Original Duckhead more than ten years ago, she envisioned umbrellas that would no longer be seen as short-lived disposable products. To make this a reality, the sustainable UK brand created umbrellas with eye-catching prints and handles in the shape of a duck’s head. Definitely too charming to be thrown into a corner or left behind. The canopy’s made from 100 per cent recycled plastic bottles, the handle from sustainably sourced birch wood. But don’t be fooled by the cute design! These umbrellas are sturdy and designed to withstand the heaviest of storms.

2. Red transparency

Transparent umbrellas are always stylish. Transparent umbrellas in trendy red? Super stylish. Transparent domed umbrellas in trendy red? Unbeatably stylish – and practical, too. This Kimood model’s designed to provide maximum protection against rain and wind, as the domed shape makes sure the edges don’t fold up. Thanks to the transparent material, you can really hide underneath it and still see where you’re going.

3. Upside down umbrella

About five years ago, I was given an umbrella that closed upwards at a trade fair. It was the handiest umbrella ever. I didn’t get wet when I closed it and could place it on the ground with no support, where it dried perfectly. Unfortunately, like so many others, I accidentally left it somewhere. That probably wouldn’t happen to me with this upside-down umbrella from Mrs. Ertha. After all, it looks so pretty! According to the manufacturer, the size is suitable for kids and adults. The steel and carbon fibre frame is designed to be wind-resistant and the recycled polyester fabric canopy doubles as UV protection.

4. Chequered classic

In January, I reported about one of the major trends of 2024 – Grandpacore. What kind of umbrella would a stylish grandpa wear? Probably this chequered XXL model from Strotz, which reminds me of the lining in classic Burberry trench coats and can easily protect two people from rainy weather.

5. Rainbow umbrella

This explosion of colour in the shape of a handy umbrella is a declaration of war on gloomy weather. Dopamine dressing to go, so to speak. While you’re protected by a colourful roof, the rain may fall as much as it wants, your mood definitely won’t. And even if it does, the shower will pass and you’ll close the umbrella, stow it away in the protective cover and forget it ever rained – all in a matter of seconds.

Remember’s colourful Allegra umbrella will lift the mood on rainy days.
