The right curtains in every room
You don't have curtains in your house (yet)? Then either you are a minimalist or you are afraid of appearing bourgeois. But times have changed: now curtains are a real style statement.
Textiles generate an immediate sense of well-being. Carpets, blankets and curtains dampen noise and transmit warmth. In addition, curtains provide privacy. Why else did I buy them straight away, as soon as I moved in? In my house, every room has built-in runners. But in your house it might be different. Even the height and width of the windows may vary from mine. Below I give you some advice on which curtain to choose in each type of room.
In the hall

The living room needs less light than the kitchen, but it should be bright enough for reading and relaxing. Therefore, I recommend you opt for white-coloured curtains or panel curtains that can be opened at will. Combine them with other darker-coloured curtains on a second guide or a curtain rod to create the right contrast. Feel free to choose colourful, brightly coloured prints: once opened, the curtains will give a unique side accent. As far as the type of fabric is concerned, I recommend silk, linen or cotton.
In the office or studio
Do you have a home office where you work? Unlike bedrooms, offices and studies need light. The roller blinds and pleated blinds allow you to manage the incidence of light. This is an important feature, especially if you work at a PC.
In the bedroom:
This is the room you spend less time in during the day. You can therefore opt for darker shades. You can also be more daring and choose heavy, opaque and colourful fabrics: smooth or corduroy, suede, wool blends - everything is allowed in the bedroom. Heavy curtains have the advantage of gently waking you up in the morning with the sunrise. Also, if you want to take a nap during the day, you can darken the room without having to pull down the blinds.

In the bathroom
Cotton shower curtains are a must: they make the bathroom much cosier and are easy to wash. On windows, on the other hand, you can opt for practical solutions, such as adhesive films or roller blinds, which protect you from prying eyes.
In the kitchen
The kitchen is the hub of every household. This is where we spend most of our time, as well as in the living room. As in the study, in the kitchen it makes sense to choose easily adaptable solutions, such as pleated or packet curtains. This way you have enough light when cooking and can create atmosphere when eating.
