Are you short on time in the mornings but don’t want to miss out on a fresh Café Crema? Then the new Nespresso machines from De’Longhi and Krups might be just the thing for you. The ‘Vertuo Up’ is said to stand out above all for its speed and customisation options.

One of the distinctive features of the Nespresso system is that the machines are manufactured under licence by partner companies. This is also the case with «Vertuo Up».

De'Longhi «Vertuo Up»: heats up quickly

The machine from De’Longhi is ready in just three seconds. So you can insert a capsule straight away. You can choose from 40 types of coffee in five cup sizes. The machine automatically recognises the coffee variety and serving size from the capsule. All you have to do now is press a button – and your morning coffee is ready.

Do you prefer your coffee a bit stronger, or do you need it as a base for milk-based drinks or an iced coffee? Use the additional button to activate the ‘ «’ Coffee Creations mode», which delivers a higher concentration.

«Vertuo Up» utilises a new technology that Nespresso «calls Centrifusion». During brewing, the coffee capsule rotates at up to 7,000 revolutions per minute. This is designed to ensure even extraction and a dense crema.

At twelve centimetres wide, the machine takes up very little space. At 25.7 centimetres high, it also fits under wall units. It offers flexibility in terms of depth, as the 1.4-litre water tank can be rotated. This means it no longer forms a straight line with the brewing unit, which reduces the machine’s depth slightly. The integrated container holds up to eighteen used capsules. With the Nespresso app, you can keep track of the machine’s maintenance.

The machine is available in anthracite and white.

Krups «Vertuo Up»: same technology, different design

The Krups version also utilises «Centrifusion» technology and the «Coffee Creations mode». The design and functions are the same; here too, the water tank can be rotated and the dimensions are identical.

The machine is available in the colours «Ocean Blue» and black.
