The most personal city tour Zurich has to offer

What if you could see Zurich through someone else's eyes? Carla Opetnik's literature project lets you take part in 20 personal stories that took place in public places in the city. You can only read bonus story number 21 with us.
With "Geliebtes Zürich", Carla Opetnik launched a sustainable literature project last year through crowdfunding: She collected personal, local stories from the city on the Limmat and compiled them into a small-edition, climate-neutral and compostable book. Carla is now working on the sequel: "Geliebtes Zürich 2" allows you to see the city through the eyes of 20 experienced and less experienced authors. As in the first volume, the new stories are linked to a place in Zurich that is open to the public and where there is no pressure to consume. Each story was illustrated by Carla herself. The result is a city guide with a difference.
Carla shares a bonus story with us that you won't find in the book.
The number 21
Lindenhof
8001 Zurich
47.373134 | 8.541052

The Lindenhof is usually well frequented. Whether it's young people smoking or tourists, there's always someone there. But on this particular evening, there was no one there when he took me here again. Freezing cold, exhausted from all the walking and drenched, we preferred to shiver in the dark rather than part ways. We talked for a long time, had our usual honest conversations, he told me about his failed attempt at something that only the two of us would understand, and so we talked about ourselves again. Until, as awkwardly as if it were the first time, our lips touched. As if a spell had been broken, time stood still while clammy fingers clung together. It wasn't the magical moment the films tell us about, on the contrary, it never felt more real. When we broke away and let our eyes wander over the city to the lights in the distance, what we had both known for a long time was sealed. - Anna

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
