The 2016 nostalgia brings us back (at least) the following trends
Trends go - and come back. That may not be the cycle of life, but it's definitely the cycle of the fashion industry. Nevertheless, the revival of this 2016 aesthetic is coming a little sooner than we'd hoped, don't you think?
Social media is currently struggling to get over the 10-year anniversary of 2016. Pure nostalgia prevails. Rarely has this «everything used to be better» feeling been more palpable than now. Especially when it comes to our outfits.
Were we really better dressed back then? That depends on how you feel about skinny jeans, ankle boots and millennial pink... Weren't we actually glad to have left all that behind? Well, what's the best way to put it: bad luck. Because at least these three 2016 trends are now full throttle on their way into our present.
Skinny jeans
After various cuts that wanted to be anything but skinny - e.g. Baggy, Barrel and Flared - the model, which has since been labelled unfashionable, is reclaiming its right to exist. Good for you if you've never sworn off the tight second-skin silhouette and still have matching trousers in your possession. But also no problem if you're new to Team Skinny: there should be no shortage of choice.
Choker
They were made of velvet, leather or with a tattoo look - and wrapped tightly around trend-conscious necks: choker necklaces. Ten years after their last heyday as a much-loved accessory, they are now capitalising on a wave of nostalgia to return to exactly the same place. As the scarf season draws to a close, they are guaranteed to keep popping up here and there until we can no longer save ourselves from chokers by summer at the latest.

Millennial pink
Oh, the millennials loved their pink in the mid-2010s. Because it also had a message: optimism! Gender neutrality! Strength! The bond was so deep and present that society immediately had to immortalise it in the name of the colour: «Millennial Pink» was born. And now, after a long time in the fashionable afterlife, it is on the cusp of rebirth.
