Swiss-Moto: petrol and chrome as far as the eye can see

The 15th edition of Swiss-Moto will once again take place in Zurich this year. From 22 to 25 February, over 400 brands will be presenting their new products in seven halls. With special exhibitions, an action hall and many other highlights, Swiss-Moto is a must-attend event for every motorcyclist.
From 22 to 25 February, the largest motorbike trade fair in Switzerland will take place in Zurich. At Swiss-Moto, visitors will be presented with the latest innovations from over 400 brands. During the four days of the fair, over 70,000 visitors will flock to the seven exhibition halls in Oerlikon. In addition to motorbikes, suppliers of motorbike clothing and accessories are also represented at the trade fair and present their new collections. Swiss-Moto also offers spectacular shows, special exhibitions, autograph sessions, lectures and much more throughout the day.
In order not to lose track of all the products on sale, the trade fair organisers have made an app available. It provides a clear overview of all exhibitors, products and demonstrations. It can be downloaded free of charge for iOS and Android.
Motorbike innovations 2018
Manufacturers such as BMW, Honda, Ducati, Triumph and Harley-Davidson, to name but a few, are all represented at Swiss-Moto with their latest models. From urban scooters to overpowered racing machines, everything can be admired, touched and test ridden. Many of these machines are celebrating their Swiss premiere here. Some will even be presented to the public for the first time. Swiss-Moto has created a list on its website showing all the new products.

Swiss-Moto Drom
The Swiss-Moto Drom celebrates its premiere this year. On the top floor of Messe Zürich, visitors will find 1,200 square metres of racing action in Hall 7. Several races with pit and pocket bikes will take place on a race track. A Wall of Death has also been set up in the centre of the hall, where professional stunt riders can prove themselves on the steep wall. What is special about this Wall of Death is that it is not made of wooden panels, but of a wafer-thin metal mesh.

Macau Road Warriors
A race like no other takes place every year in Macau, China. Formula 3, touring cars and motorbikes alternate for victory on the temporary Guia Circuit. The city circuit is unusually long with a distance of over six kilometres. As the track is only between 7 and 14 metres wide and has blind bends, the Guia Circuit is known as one of the most dangerous racetracks in the world. Fatal accidents occur time and again, especially among motorcyclists, as the track has no run-off areas and is only demarcated by crash barriers and house walls. At speeds of 300 km/h, the track does not forgive a single mistake.
A special exhibition area will be dedicated to the Macau Grand Prix at this year's Swiss-Moto. There will be exciting talks with the two motorbike racers Horst Saiger and Andy Hofmann. In addition, every visitor will have the opportunity to ride a lap of the Guia Circuit with VR goggles. This makes you realise just how dangerous and unpredictable this track really is.
Swiss-Custom Bikeshow
As every year at Swiss-Moto, the Swiss-Custom Bikeshow will also take place at the 15th edition of the trade fair. Here, 50 elaborately customised motorbikes can be viewed. On Sunday, the last day of Swiss-Moto, a jury will select a winner from all the individual pieces on display and thus the most beautiful custom bike at the bike show. In addition to the coveted trophy, the winner will receive a place at the Custom Show Emirates 2018 in Abu Dhabi.

Special exhibition of army motorcycles
In collaboration between the Wildegg Military Museum and the Central Centre for Historical Army Equipment, visitors to Swiss-Moto will be able to marvel at a special exhibition of Swiss army motorbikes this year. It is the first of its kind in this form, as for the first time all army motorbikes since the Second World War are on display in one place. These include a Universal A 1000, a Condor A 580 and scooters from Vespa and Lambretta, of which only 20 were ever produced.
