Ski touring & sailing holidays will be the best of my life

The question "Hey Manuel, we're going on an adventure trip to Norway - are you coming with us?" turns into the most impressive holiday of my life. With a crew of nine, we spend a week sailing through the fjords around Tromsø. We take our ski touring and film equipment with us.
The adventure begins on a grey morning in the port of Tromsø. We buy provisions for a week at sea in the neighbouring supermarkets. Including some completely overpriced bottles of beer, wine and spirits. "A dry ship is a dead ship," explains our Czech skipper Tomáš. Well equipped, we board the spacious catamaran, stow our ski bags, weigh anchor and leave the harbour. The adventure begins!
From the beach to the summit
We make it through the first night in our cramped but very cosy twin berths and the weather is at its best. We only leave our floating home base for the daily ski tours. We board the dinghy, a small dinghy, with our backpacks and packs and head for the beach. These are usually deserted places somewhere around the Lyngen Alps, fjords in the north of Norway. And we're lucky, because the snow is still at sea level, so we can set off directly from the beach with our skins under our poles.

The mountains are mostly between 1000 and 1200 metres high. After around 400 metres in altitude, a world opens up that takes our breath away every day. Endless fjords, peaks that are unrecognisable at sea level and the incredible vastness of the landscape. Unrivalled! Once we reach the summit, we usually start planning for the next day and decide on one of the many peaks around us. After all, you can hardly see as far as from up here.

The battle of the materials
Luckily, our Arctic Princess offers plenty of storage space, as ski equipment and touring gear are added to the usual luggage. Of course, this requires a little discipline and a sense of order from every crew member.

Drone, GoPro and system camera with a selection of lenses are a must and, despite everything, still find space in our tour rucksacks. We are rewarded with impressive shots that will help us remember this trip for a long time to come.
Fortunately, the catamaran has enough power thanks to a small on-board generator, so our batteries are charged every day and our clothes and shoes are dry by the next day.
We'll be back, no question about it
The days in the far north are already longer than the nights in April and every day they get around nine minutes longer. We are lucky with the weather and enjoy wonderful descents with views towards the sea day after day. And we're lucky: even the northern lights show up for a night or two - pure magic for all of us. We'll be back: this time in summer and with a mountain bike on board.
