Remember those hairy trends from the 90s?

Man, I was cool back then. At least that's what I thought. After all, I went along with every tasteless trend that the 90s and early 2000s had to offer with my hair. All repressed and forgotten - until I stumbled across these products.
Crepe hair (hair poop)
It's hard to believe, but it's true: Crepe hair, or "crimped hair" as stylists call it, is back in fashion. Back then, I copied the zigzag look from teen idols like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Melissa Joan Hart. Of course, without questioning whether I didn't look more like the neighbour's poodle than the girls on my posters. Because we still throw the rules of good taste overboard these days, especially during festival season, ghd has launched a crepe iron. [[productlist:7514626]]

Main thing to stand out
What I look back on with particular nostalgia is my unshakeable self-confidence, which led me to wear hair piercings, hair mascaras and colourful barrettes. I remember that in addition to the hair spirals that I stole from my mum's drawer back then, I also whinged at every visit to the hairdresser until I was allowed to choose a new hair piercing. However, they didn't look as hip as the metal rings that we're currently putting in our manes in the style of Ariana Grande. They were small, tight metal springs that were decorated with a rhinestone on the left and right and that you could clip onto a strand of hair. It didn't look nice, nor did anyone recognise what it was supposed to represent. Most people pointed out that something was hanging in my hair. And did I mention that taking it out involved pain and annoying fiddling around? Never mind, I loved it.

Give rubber
I had hair elastics in all colours and shapes and always had two of them in case I braided two pigtails. The more eye-catching the beads or figures attached to them, the better. To be honest, I would still love to wear such hair jewellery today. On the other hand, I find the phase in which I tied elastics in my hair that were mixed with artificial hair really awful. Artificial hair that didn't match my natural colour at the back and front. At the time, I thought that nobody would notice. I long to have that childish naivety back. Because I would probably still be rocking the odd trend from the 90s with it today... [[product:10775765,10853661,10853704]]

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
