Rainbow Drip Candle Cone – the candle with a surprising twist
At first glance, the Rainbow Drip Candle Cone looks like a regular candle. But when you light it, the wax is supposed to drip down in rainbow colours. I’d love to see that.
Over the years, I’ve tested many candles from Galaxus: from scented candles and chocolate candles to floating candles. I’ve even organised a candle race, but I just can’t get enough of these decorative masterpieces. On my hunt for creative candles that offer special effects or designs,
I came across the Rainbow Drip Candle Cone by Bitten. This pretty candle’s supposed to produce wax drippings in all colours of the rainbow. To find out if this is true, I ordered one.

First impressions
Bitten, a Dutch brand, is famous for innovative design products that often have a playful and humorous twist. The Rainbow Drip Candle Cone’s no exception. It comes in attractive packaging with pictures showing how the candle looks when you light it. This helps me see why it’s special, but it also spoils the surprise. Nevertheless, the packaging’s ideal if the candle’s a gift and you don’t have any nice wrapping paper.

Lighting it
Candle flames are always warm and enchanting, but the rainbow design’s even better, adding spectacular wax drippings to the mix. After just a few minutes, the first colour, red, starts trickling down, followed shortly afterwards by the second, green.

No more wax seems to drip from the fourth colour though. So I help out by cutting into the wax, allowing the next layer to be released. This trick works and more and more colours appear. Hopefully, this is a one-off and the colours usually flow without having to intervene.

One of my favourite things is that the colourful drippings are a real eye-catcher, even after blowing out the candle. And the quality’s impressive, too. Made of high-quality paraffin wax, the candle features intense colours and burns slowly. However, there are also disadvantages to this material. Paraffin wax is a by-product of the oil industry and potentially produces more soot. This can be harmful in larger quantities, but not if it’s just a candle. Personally, I’d buy a paraffin wax candle if it’s a special one. And this one surely is.
