It's hard to imagine weatherproof clothing without synthetic fabrics. However, sportswear manufacturer Mover relies exclusively on biodegradable fibres. This is also the case with the "Ventile" all-weather jacket.

If you're still looking for a lightweight, weatherproof insulating jacket for winter and are looking for sustainability, you could take a look at the «Ventile» jacket from Mover. Like all of the manufacturer's products, it is completely plastic-free.

You can order the jacket in sizes between XS and XL.

Structure and functions of the «Ventile»

The outer material of the jacket is made from tightly woven cotton, which is designed to provide wind and water protection. Underneath is a thin layer of 100 per cent merino wool. This is responsible for better heat and moisture regulation. According to Mover, the «Ventile» is also breathable.

The drop seams are double-stitched. The jacket does not have a shoulder seam, which should ensure greater comfort and improved waterproofness. Glue is not used in the entire construction. Several drawstrings with stoppers allow you to adjust the jacket to your preferences. There are six pockets to store your small items

You can machine wash the jacket at 30 degrees. It is not suitable for tumble drying.

Mover focuses on sustainability

The Lausanne-based company says it recognises the numerous problems caused by increasing plastic waste. Mover has therefore set itself the goal of countering the synthetic fibre trend: Anyone who chooses to reach for a plastic-free product is not adding to the global mountain of rubbish. The production of durable, plastic-free sportswear, fairly produced in Europe, is therefore a priority for Mover. Mover has knitted products manufactured in Mongolia. The wool used also comes from there.

Only natural fibres such as cotton, wool, silk, hemp, nettle and linen are used in the products. The clothing should therefore have the same thermo-regulating properties as synthetic fibre clothing - but is biodegradable. Buttons and threads are also recyclable, promises Mover.
