Now available: 8 new padel rackets from Nox
Soft foam core, stiff hitting surface, or more weight in the racket head: the new Nox models emphasize different aspects of maneuverability, ball control, and hitting power.
The eight rackets belong to the 2027 Nox collection. Seven of the eight rackets from the 2027 Nox collection were created in collaboration with the world-class Argentine player Agustín Tapia. The eighth model bears the name of the Spaniard Aimar Goñi.
Genius: from light to head-heavy
The five Genius models feature a carbon frame and carbon fiber hitting surfaces. They differ in shape, weight, and the construction of the hitting surface.
With the teardrop-shaped racket head of the «Genius 18K Alum» and the «Genius 12K Alum Xtrem», the sweet spot—the area for the most effective ball contact—is usually located slightly above the center of the racket. This is intended to offer a compromise between maneuverability and power.
Both models weigh between 360 and 375 grams. They differ primarily in the construction of the carbon hitting surface. Nox classifies the hitting feel of both as medium-hard. The designations 12K and 18K refer to the number of carbon filaments in a fiber bundle.
The «Genius 12K Alum Xtrem Lite» is slightly lighter at 350 to 360 grams. It also features a softer foam core, which is designed to dampen ball contact more effectively.
In contrast, the two models «Genius Attack 18K Alum» and «Genius Attack 12K Alum Xtrem» have a diamond-shaped racket head. This places the center of gravity higher up. This favors powerful attacking shots but makes quick movements more demanding. Both weigh between 360 and 375 grams. According to the manufacturer, the 12K version has the harder hitting surface.
All five Genius rackets have a rough surface designed to give the ball extra spin. You can change the weight distribution with additional weights of up to eight grams. A damping system in the handle is designed to reduce vibrations upon ball contact.
Pro Cup: two models with different hardness
For the «Pro Cup Soft» and «Pro Cup Hard», Nox uses aluminum-coated fiberglass fabric for the hitting surfaces. Both rackets have a carbon frame, a teardrop shape, and each weighs between 360 and 375 grams.
The most important difference lies in the foam core. In the «Pro Cup Soft», it gives way more and dampens ball contact. The «Pro Cup Hard» has a firmer core, which is intended to provide a more direct hitting feel.
Both models have a roughened surface for shots with spin and damping elements in the handle, but they do not offer individual weight distribution.
Ventus Attack: high center of gravity for attacking shots
The «Ventus Attack 12K Xtrem» was created in collaboration with the Spanish padel player Aimar Goñi. Like the two Genius Attack models, it has a diamond-shaped racket head with a high center of gravity.
The hitting surface consists of 12K carbon, and inside is a multi-layered foam core. The racket weighs between 360 and 375 grams. Its extended handle offers more space for two-handed shots.
As with the Genius models, you can adjust the weight distribution with up to eight grams of additional weight. A rough hitting surface and a damping system in the handle complete the features.
