New ski helmets and ski goggles from Alpina
Helmets with visors, additional rotational protection, and ski goggles for various head sizes: Alpina is expanding its winter sports collection. There are also new models for children.
If you are looking for a helmet or ski goggles for your next ski trip, you will find various designs at Alpina. The models differ primarily in their protection system, construction, and fit.
Ski helmets with visor or Mips
The «Vizzard Q-Lite» has an integrated visor. When folded down, it moves closer to the face to provide a better seal. The Q-Lite lens enhances contrasts in the snow, making it easier to spot uneven terrain. An Ergomatic buckle is designed to make opening and closing easier while wearing gloves.
The «Arber 2 Visor Q-Lite» also features an integrated visor. If you prefer a classic helmet with separate ski goggles, the «Arber 2 Mips» is a great alternative. It combines a robust plastic outer shell with a shock-absorbing foam core. Removable ear pads are also included.
The abbreviation Mips stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. It allows a low-friction layer inside the helmet to move slightly during an angled impact. This is intended to reduce the rotational motion of the head. However, the system cannot fundamentally prevent injuries.
In addition to the «Arber 2 Mips», the «Versatile Mips» and the «Kroon Mips» are also equipped with this system. The «Versatile» is particularly suitable for freeride runs and ski tours. It features adjustable ventilation and removable ear pads. Alpina has also designed it to be compatible with the «Venet Q-Lite» ski goggles.
With the «Kroon», you can also regulate the ventilation. It also includes a removable inner lining and an adjustment system that allows you to adapt the helmet to your head.
Ski goggles with contrast-enhancing lenses
For ski goggles, Alpina relies on, among other things, contrast-enhancing Q-Lite lenses. They are designed to highlight contours and height differences in the snow more clearly. This is particularly useful in diffuse light, when uneven surfaces are difficult to see.
The «Granby 2 Q-Lite» features a frameless construction and a curved lens. The «Granby 2 S Q-Lite» has a similar design but is narrower and intended for smaller heads. A coating on the inside of the lens and ventilation openings are designed to reduce fogging. Both versions can also be worn over prescription glasses.
With the «Slope Q-Lite» and the «Venet Q-Lite», there are other ski goggles with contrast-enhancing lenses to choose from.
Ski helmets and goggles for children
For children, there is the «Zupo 2 Mips» and the «Zupo 2 Visor Q-Lite». The latter has an integrated, contrast-enhancing visor. Its hard plastic shell also encloses a shock-absorbing foam core. The inner lining can be removed for washing.
The «Zupo 2 Disney Set» combines the «Zupo 2» helmet with «Scarabeo Jr.» ski goggles. The set is available with motifs from «Frozen», «Cars», and «Stitch». The goggles have an anti-fog coating and can also be worn over optical glasses.
With the «Piney 2.0» and the «Fernie Q-Lite», Alpina also offers two separate children's ski goggles. The «Piney 2.0» has an orange lens designed to brighten the field of vision. The «Fernie Q-Lite», on the other hand, enhances contrasts in the snow.
The right size is crucial for all ski helmets. A helmet must fit firmly without being uncomfortably tight. The centimeter measurements of the models refer to head circumference. When using a combination of a helmet and separate ski goggles, you should also check that they fit together without large gaps or pressure points.
