New in the range: everything to do with darts

I'll take you to disreputable pubs, to the darkest corners of the dingiest bars. There it hangs: the dartboard. Clichés and facts can be found here. And I've also put together the products you need to get your darts career off to a good start.
If you take a closer look at darts, you quickly realise that seeing darts as a boring pub pastime is far from the truth. Darts is a high-class precision sport!
Did you know...?
- The first records of darts date back to the 19th century. The game probably originated in England.
- There are numerous versions of darts. In most games, including at the World Cup, the "501 doubles" mode is played.
- A hit in the bullseye, the centre of the dartboard, is not a bull's eye; you only get 50 points.
- 60 points, the highest score that can be achieved with one throw, is awarded in the inner ring under the 20, the so-called "Triple 20".
- As a beginner, try to hit the "Triple 19" field rather than the "Triple 20". If you miss (which, to be honest, is very likely at the beginning), you will still have high scores to the left and right of the 19 (7 and 3). Next to the 20 are only the 5 and 1. This pays off in the long term.
- A "leg" is the smallest unit of play (for example, playing from 501 to 0). Above that come the set and match.
- Each player shoots three darts per round, whereby a round is referred to as a "shot".
- The dart consists of 4 different parts: the point, the barrel, the shaft and the flights. The last three can be combined in almost infinite variations and can also be purchased individually.
- When it comes to darts, a distinction is made between steel darts and soft darts. Steeldarts have a metal tip, while soft darts are usually made of plastic. The type of dart and disc depend on each other. You need soft darts for automatic darts (e-darts), whereas you throw with steel darts on classic dartboards.
- The dart weight is usually between 16 and 26 grams. In soft darts, the maximum weight is 18g to protect the electronics.
- The dartboard hangs correctly when it is exactly 1.73m high (measured from the floor to the bullseye in the centre) and 2.37m from the foot mark (measured from the front of the board, not from the wall).
Your starter set
A classic, inexpensive disc forms the basis for your new hobby. A wall protection is ideal all around. We assume that you won't hit the bull's eye or the target with every arrow. Add a six-pack of arrows and you're ready for your first round. Which arrows you need is a science in itself. Generally speaking, longer and heavier darts are better for beginners.
Now it's time to practise, practise, practise. And keep adding to your collection. From the grinding stone for the metal tips of the darts to the premium velour dart mat and the key ring in dartboard shape, you can get everything your dart heart desires from us.

I love the strategy game “The Settlers of Catan”, the Ravensburger puzzle “Colourful Cupcakes” and the pink fluffy unicorn that sits on my desk (a birthday present from my workmates). Not only do I have a weakness for toys, I also get excited about good food and comedy TV shows.
