Mystery Chinese smartphone: what's Realme working on?

The Chinese manufacturer Realme has a new smartphone in the pipeline. It’s hitting the shelves soon. But now, pictures of a new model have surfaced on the Internet. The problem is no one knows the name of this device.

The Chinese manufacturer’s new flagship is called the Realme GT 5G. Of course, the company’s also working on other phones. Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks) has recreated one of them – in 3D. The mockup reveals quite a few details. But the name of the phone is not one of them.

In the video, we can see the phone has a notch for the selfie camera and a fingerprint reader on the back. According to Steve, this suggests we’re not looking at a new flagship model. He believes the unnamed phone is likely to be in the lowest price category. Here’s what else we know: the phone will have a 3.5 mm jack and a microSD card slot.

There are apparently three camera modules on the back – one of which could be a sensor. It doesn’t seem to belong to the upcoming Realme 8 series, as that one’s being teased with a square camera. And by the looks of it, it’s not an X9 either. And certainly not the GT.

So, it could be a new model in the C series. But that’s just a guess. The Chinese manufacturer announced the Realme C20 back in January.
