Production step by step

Material
Myfelt rugs are made from 100% pure new wool. This comes from sheep from New Zealand, which are among the highest quality of their kind in the world. The new wool offers durability and quality at the highest level.
Combing and colouring
The wool is first carded in the manufactory in Nepal. This means that the fibres are aligned: This creates an even pile. This is then washed several times. The wool is then given its final character in the "Label Step" FairTrade certified dyeing plant - dyed according to purely ecological guidelines.
Felting
Felting is the most complex work step of all. Each individual felt ball is brought into its final shape by hand in several steps with the utmost precision.
Knotting
The finished felt balls are joined together using Myfelt's specially developed knotting process. The result is a Myfelt product of the highest craftsmanship. For example, a rug with up to 50,000 individual felt balls sewn together by hand.
The guarantee
All Myfelt felt ball rugs are 100% handmade. This means that there may occasionally be minimal differences in colour and material. These are not a sign of inferior quality or a production error, but rather proof of fair craftsmanship and a unique natural product. Should quality defects nevertheless occur, all Myfelt rugs are covered by a 5-year guarantee.
The care
Due to the ecological dyeing method, Myfelt felt ball rugs may only be dry cleaned. Water-based and chemical cleaning can lead to colour changes. A brush should not be used when vacuuming your carpet.
The certification
Since 2014, Myfelt has been working with "GoodWeave International", one of the world's largest fair trade organisations in the carpet industry. The GoodWeave seal of approval stands for an international initiative against child labour in carpet production. In addition to combating child labour and reintegrating children from the carpet industry into a regular life. In order to obtain GoodWeave certification, Myfelt has undertaken to comply with the high standards. GoodWeave inspectors are granted unannounced access to the production facilities at any time. Every GoodWeave-certified carpet bears a seal with a serial number. This guarantees the sustainable transparency desired by manufacturers and end consumers.
